Thanks for that, Mike! Trying to imagine what my favorite TV show would have been like with Heston at the helm. Wow!

My buddy and former band mate Steve Johnson has been lifelong friends with Edward Olmos, so I don't want to get into too much speculation over what that show might have been like with a Heston Adama; except to say that I think Olmos is certainly shining in the part for me, and maybe Heston might have overshadowed the lesser known cast members. But wow, imagining Him barking out the phrase, "Launch the Vipers!" gives me goosebumps. :)

Frank,
Very nicely done.
You are very right about Charlton Heston. I met him several times at Fox when he was making "Last Hard Man". And even though I'm a fairly big person in height (6'2") I always felt very diminished in size next to him. Not only was he a big man, but he had that amazing aura of a Hollywood star. Our politics were certainly different as night and day, but when it came to suggestions for the casting of Admiral Adama in Battlestar Gallactica, I fought hard to have Heston in the role. Unfortunately, Alzheimer's disease had really taken it's toll by then and it never came to pass. But I still think what an extrodinary part it would have been, as the character seems to embody all of the thinkgs I admire in Heston.
He will live on forever.
